All Ireland SFC Final Replay 2016 Ticket Draw

Breaffy GAA are having a draw for this year’s All Ireland SFC Final Replay 2016 between Mayo and Dublin on October the 1st with 2 All Ireland SFC Final tickets on offer. The draw will take place at 9pm on Thursday 29th September in Breaffy Clubhouse and the cost of entry is €5. The winner will win 2 Free Terrace Tickets to the match. Please note that funds raised will be used to ensure that we can pay the additional charge for ticket bumper packs to the Mayo GAA County Board which will ensure that as many Breaffy Club members get to the game as possible. Breaffy GAA’s Club development lotto jackpot of €16,500 was won recently by club member and supporter Maureen Collins. Breaffy would like to congratulate Maureen and her family – Michael, Patrick and Aileen and wish them well.

Every Saturday morning after St. Patrick’s Day until the end of September Breaffy GAA football pitch is filled with the noise of over 100 children and a dozen coaches active in the learning and teaching of the skills of Gaelic football. The Breaffy GAA U6 Academy was an idea developed to let children become involved in Gaelic games at a younger age in a fun, safe environment. In the past players would join Breaffy GAA when they were 7 or 8 years old and join as U8s. There are now over 30 players aged between 4 and 6 in the U6 group in 2016 and 7 coaches. Read more

Episode two of RTE and AIB GAA’s ‘The Toughest Trade’ aired on Tuesday night and featured our very own Aidan O’Shea trading places with NFL veteran Roberto Wallace.
Aidan made the journey to the US to participate at an NFL combine while the former Miami Dolphins wide receiver Roberto came to Breaffy for a week of training with our senior panel which also included experiencing the sights that the local area has to offer. Read more

Bord na nÓg Awards 2015

Breaffy Bord Na nÓg GAA Club held its annual underage awards evening recently in Breaffy GAA Clubhouse. Michael Callaghan, Breaffy Bord Na nÓg Chairperson, introduced special guest for the presentation evening Roberto Wallace, NFL star, who was a former Miami Dolphins wide receiver and speed coach. Roberto is with the Breaffy Club for a week to get a taste of how to play Gaelic Football and to immerse himself in the Culture of the GAA and experience its uniqueness, while Breaffy’s  Aiden O’ Shea has gone to an NFL  American Football Team to experience how American football is played.
